Proud To Be Charter Standard

The club is delighted to have achieved Charter Standard at the end of last season. The club has been working towards this award for the past four years and finally the hard work has paid off with the FA rewarding the club and committee members.
This is to be held at Lodsworth Village Hall GU28 9BY 18.45 for a 19.00 start As you are all aware, the life blood of our club for the future comes from Oli's Saturday training sessions...After a certain age we must move these kids into competitive teams playing in Saturday morning matches where everything is provided for them to progress.. However for this we do need parents to get involved and manage the teams....I know that this may sound like a time consuming proposition but i can assure you it is not that bad at all and many of you are present at training anyway - this just means you get to stand on the opposite side of the pitch and shout lol....Many of you will say i know nothing about football, or someone else will do it but at this age it really is just guiding the kids to grow in confidence not become the next Barcelona....YET This is also a great time for anyone who can help or has ideas about team admin - we can explain all and tell you how easy it is - tech has really sped up all of this so we can just Play and watch them all thrive...... This is at Lodsworth Village Hall at 19.00 on Friday 11th Feb 2022... The club is also looking for sponsors and ideas from potential sponsors of what they expect etc - so as part of the meeting we have also set aside a short bit of time for potential club sponsors to come along and ask questions and meet the team!! It would be great to have you along Doors open 18.45 19.00 - Sponsorship Brainstorm 19.20 - New Mangers & Assistance Brainstorm & Q & A 19.40 - Managers Meeting We are looking to round up any volunteers for the coming season. To include Managers / Coaches (you do not need to be a footballer for this role just someone who can guide the kids in team building/ spirit) you do not need to be qualified either or take FA Badges but this can help... Team Assistants - just to email opponents each week with game details and round up the team for the game. Kit Ordering - We are looking for a person to coordinate our Kit order each season - very easy role just need to get orders for coaches and process then distribute Finance - we now have a requirement for a club finance person. Again this role is not too difficult as the main bulk of finance is done by the board/trust Sponsors - Our club depends on sponsors to keep costs down for memberships but the way in which we do this is up for discussion. Sport England has delivered a decisive boost to Fernhurst’s campaign for a vastly improved sports pavilion. The country’s leading body for grassroots sport is making a grant of £100,000 to Pavilion2022. It follows a series of smaller awards from charitable trusts. Bill Gourlay of Fernhurst Recreation Ground Trust said, “This is a massive vote of confidence in what we are trying to do and gets us so much nearer to the target. The fundraising team have been busy for four years now and the pandemic hasn’t stopped them. Our old pavilion has become a victim of our success and Sport England recognised how many people are trying to access it. This really vindicates our ‘Sport for All’ strategy.” He continued “As if we needed a carrot, the grant from Sport England is provisional upon our raising the rest of the required funds, so now the incentive really is there to take this opportunity whilst we can.” Pavilion2022 is Fernhurst’s campaign to rebuild at the village recreation ground. The pavilion is the last piece in the jigsaw after major improvements to the pitches and the addition of tennis courts and cricket nets. Traditional fundraising events remain on hold but the ambition is to stage the Blackdown Hill Challenge later in the year, when it is safe to do so.
