Fernhurst Sports First 11-1 FC Colts Firsts
Saturday 20th of October West Sussex Bareham Trophy.  Fernhurst went into this game with their perfect record intact, after 15 minutes it was abundantly clear it wasn’t going to be threated. FC Colts a team of 18/19 year olds looked lively, despite their late arrival and poor pre-match preparation.  Fernhurst however were in a completely different league!  Morton opened the scoring from left-mid, a nice little one two with Moore, Morton providing an exquisite dink 1-0.  Moore took over, scoring a left foot, right foot, header perfect hattrick.  Matt Ayres scored his first of the season taking opportunity to get into the opposition’s half for the first time this year.  5-0 at half time, Fernhurst perhaps should have had more, but were quite satisfied with their efforts.
Half time changes were made, Munt, Bower and Williams on debut, replaced Allcock, Morton and Ayres. Fernhurst remained 4-5-1 determined to put in a strong 90 minute performance. Munt and Bower making instant impacts, Munt picked out Bower who was to score the first of his second half hattrick, which included a bullet header and a spectacular overhead bicycle kick! Munt, Moore and Cobby all added goals to make the final score 11-1.  An impressive display against a poor opposition, but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Fernhurst have been drawn away to lower league opposition in the quarter final next round.
Back to the league on the 27th against Selsey Reserves, a team not to be underestimated, with their first team playing a very good standard.  Special mention to all those who came to support, we look forward to seeing you all for next weekends home game!
